Life is made up of journeys in which the pool of experience on each journey matters. Every path has an endpoint but it leaves its signs on the heart forever. Some are calm & cool to pass out and some are challenging but worthwhile.

Just take a chance to challenge yourself and take that route in which you want to walk with believing in yourself that you can ride it, no matter how much it seems bumpy and jerky. I believe that we can achieve what we want but it’s possible if we look deep behind the reason for it.

“Life is a journey to be experienced, not a problem to be solved.”

— Winnie the pooth

I never thought to be part of Amal before I joined university. On 23 March 2019, attended the job fair. That day I was covered with fear of uncertainty, rejection, insult, and competition even I didn’t take the risk to have a conversation with the interview. After spending the half-day, nearly 3 pm I take a seat in front of the company booth to relax my heartbeat and put down my resume on a desk, and start reading the broachers placed on a desk. Suddenly I heard a voice; hello! Assalam u Alaikum and started reviewing my resume.

The funniest thing is that I start thinking about how to run away from here but fortunately failed. That person starts the conversation with ice-breaking questions, giving positive feedback on the resume, talk about the degree, plans, and much more. I was wondering I met 1st person till morning who welcomed me with dill sy and kushi sy. At that moment I was talking like a child who is in the deep sea and needs a guide.

That magical, amazing, exceptional person was Sir Awais Farooq.

Then he told details about Amal Academy and its career fellowship program which make me curious that how could such kind of institute exist in Pakistan, why I never heard about this. Chit chat went well, I came home and start my research about Aaml Academy like visited websites, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook. That moment decided I have to join this fellowship. I applied 2 times but not qualified but 3rd time I became part of the Amal family.

Being an Amal fellow, I have many everlasting memories. The journey of Amal is one of the most wonderful experiences throughout life. It’s time to connect the dot and recollect all memories about what I learned in Amal academy. It creates a growth mindset, positive attitude, built self-confidence, and helped me discover a strong connection towards my goal. Especially, taught me that asking for help is ok either for others and yourself. You can’t learn things if you hesitate towards it.

This path seems difficult often, but after joining I found the true version of myself. There were many impactful events like Amal sessions, debate, recording elevator pitches, Group meetings, and mega projects discussions but the most impressive event was collecting donations for Edhi Foundation. Amal helps me to how to face rejections and start again after facing difficulties.

I am amazed by the way online sessions arrange. Sessions are extremely engaging in that everyone can participate and share their thoughts, opportunities to give constructive feedback.

Our program managers Ma’am Aalia and Ma’am Yusra created a very friendly space for everyone. They motivate us to go the extra mile and try to get the best out of it. Everyone was very much supportive and respectful. I never thought that online sessions can be so much creative.

Every single person, project work online course of fellowship made a remarkable impact. Leadership without Authority series change my narrative about life. It made me realize that to be a hero is not a mandatory requirement to do something great. It’s all about taking initiative and responsibility.

Be an agent of positive change! — Khadijah, Amal Alumni

Passenger series help me to get answers to many questions related to professional life. Amal not only give answers but helped us to execute all skills practically like they arrange mock interviews. After that, we also get feedback on our performance which helped me to improve my weak area.

This journey is just start!
